Giant Crego Mixed Aster Seeds 5030. Also known as Ostrich Feathers because of the loose, gracefully curled arrangement of the petals. Fragrant, immense double flowers averaging 10-15 cm (4-6"") in size are perched on top of sturdy 60 cm (2""²) high stems. Colours include white, pink, crimson, salmon-rose, blue and purple. A reliable old favourite that is not invasive. A superb cut flower that can be used in beds, borders or containers in sites with full sun to partial shade.

How to Grow

400 seed/gram. Sow seed directly outdoors in mid May or for earlier flowering, start indoors in a soil-less growing medium from mid March through to early April. Keep seed at the surface as light aids in germination. Seed will germinate in 7-15 days at 21 C (70 F). Note: Germination can be irregular and ranges from 50-80 %. Grow on indoors under lights at a slightly cooler temperature before hardening off and transplanting outside after the danger of frost has passed. Dead head to promote continued flowering.
