Mammoth Sandwich Island has been the favourite salsify since the mid 1860's.

How to Grow

60 seed/gram Culture is similar to carrots. Sow seed in May 12 mm (1/2"") deep in rows 30 cm (12"") apart. Thin to 7.5 cm (3"") after germination. Keep evenly watered through the growing season, as this will ensure good roots and will help to stop ""˜bolting' from occurring during hot, dry conditions.
